Guest houses (pensiuni, in romanian) can be a good alternative to hotel accommodation in Romania, sometimes cheaper and sometimes more confortable and pleasant. Most of the guest houses in Romania are managed directly by their owners and this can be an advantage of this accommodation type.

Guest houses accommodation is widely spread both in urban and rural areas.

In the big touristic cities - like Brasov, Sibiu, Cluj-Napoca, etc. - many of them have 3 or 4 stars classification and very nice rooms and architecture and some of them can accommodate tourists in 10 - 20 double rooms and apartments.
